Could this be you?*** This position will operate primarily out of our Sand Hill School in Palo Alto.***
As a School Based Therapist, you will:
• Serve as primary therapist and clinical case manager for each child/family on caseload. Provide guidance in the mental health domain as a member of each student’s interdisciplinary team.
• Lead weekly group therapy for classroom students.
• Consult in a timely manner with the school Clinical Manager on clinical treatment plans and in the event of crisis situations (risk assessments, potential CPS reports …)
• Responsible for conducting a comprehensive family and child developmental history & assessment during the intake process.
• Responsible for compiling information, formulating, and reporting specific recommendations for follow-up mental health services when child and family transition from EBC.
• Oversee the prudent continuation and transition of necessary mental health services when students transition or mainstream into a less restrictive educational setting.
• Develop, monitor, and document each student’s therapeutic IEP goals in consultation with the team and with the school clinical manager.
• Complete initial intake evaluation/assessment, outcome evaluation forms and clinical progress notes and reports in a timely manner regarding therapeutic services delivered.
• Conduct primary liaison/communication with community-based mental health-related agencies, service systems, providers, and family support organizations that are or have been recommended to be part of the child’s/family’s mental health intervention plan.
• Plan and co-lead evening parent workshops, support groups, and podcasts on a relevant topic as requested by supervisor.
• Attends weekly therapist and staff meetings as well as classroom team meetings as necessary; keeps classroom team appraised of pertinent information regarding the individual and family therapies, within professional limits of confidentiality and appropriateness.
• Attend each child’s IEP meetings, parent/team conferences and present therapeutic IEP goals as well as review students’ progress on these goals. Review the child's mental health status and present the mental health component of the intervention plan.
• Conduct specialized theme groups as needed and as directed by the school clinical manager (examples might include: transition group, parent education/support group, divorce/family change group, adoption group, etc).
• Schedule and attend regular weekly individualized supervisory meeting with the school Clinical Manager, and attend occasional community/professional meetings as official representative of EBC School and Children’s Health Council.
• Review clinical handbook and complete orientation checklist within thirty (30) days of hire.
• Complete all training as required.
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

• Ensure that school policies and procedures are carried out.
• Adheres to CHC Employee Handbook.
• Ensure the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Law is adhered to.
• Protects the confidentiality of client/student and families.
What we’re looking for:
• Strong basic knowledge of individual, group, and family therapy modalities in youth and family work.
• Knowledge of youth and family service systems (county mental health, social services/child protection, juvenile corrections).
• Knowledge of and/or classroom teaching experience with children who have serious emotional disturbances and learning disabilities.
• Ability to work on an interdisciplinary team and to provide guidance/supervision to interns
• Experience working with diverse populations and commitment to CHC’s DEIB initiatives
• Knowledge of electronic health record keeping and comfort with Zoom software
About your background (education/experience):
• PPSC (Pupil Personnel Services) Credential required.
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
• Minimum of one-year post-graduate experience conducting therapy with children and families.
• Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team in a school setting is preferred.
• Master’s degree or Doctoral degree in mental health field.

• Able to lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
Compensation is listed below:
Range: $80,000 to $95,000 per year

This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
